Several of Sistertech’s clients are a-twitter. No, dear ones. Not that kind of “twitter”. Sistertech means the real word,” a-twitter”, first used in 1883. It’s in The Oxford English Dictionary. Why the magnificent OED isn’t on the best seller list is beyond me. There is even a CD version 4.0 (Windows & Mac). Much easier one one’s back. I don’t go anywhere without it.
This brings me to the Amazon Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device (9.7). I’m sure you’ve heard about it even if you haven’t seen one up close.
There is something sinister about this device. It may even be Sinister (if you know what I mean). Sistertech is the first to admit that she has not fully vetted this device. I’ve taken it for a short test drive, as they say. Pardon me for lapsing into the vernacular, but something about the Kindle just creeps me out.
I have yet to pinpoint precisely what it is that alarms Sistertech. Whenever I try to articulate my concerns I hear these words from Psalm 119, verse 11 to be exact:
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee…
Well, as I said: this Kindle thing just creeps me out. It’s as though people will no longer bother to memorize The Document. Just whip out the trusty Kindle.
I tell you. Sistertech has grave concerns. Grave.
